Glen Rose Summer Classic 2024 – Rules

1. Enter by Mail, Online @ebarrelracing.com – Equivent, on-site (Entry Cash on-site only). NO CASH REFUNDS WILL BE ALLOWED. Entries must be postmarked by 07/26/24, Enter online at Ebarrelracing.com. Onsite & online entries will be taken until the last 25 Runners. Early draw will be posted the evening of 7/31/24, entries received after draw is posted will be added in order they are received. Checks will be available after 12:00pm the following day. Horse & Rider substitutions can be made before you run, with a $10.00 change fee. Rider substitutions are subject to office fees if rider was not previously entered. Office opens: Fri. Aug 2nd office at 11:30am & Open starts at 6:00pm; Sat. & Sun. Aug 3rd & 4^th office at 8:00am & Open at 9:00am. You must have current coggins & health papers if you are from out of the state.
2. All Pre-Entries or Special Request will be handed in the order they are received. Please make note on your entry form of any special request. Early drawn will be posted 7/31/24 by 7pm & can be found on at Ebarrelracing.com. Entries received after early draw is posted will be added as received. Live Results will be on Ebarrelracing.com.
3. Draw out Rules: Request must be received 1 hour before the 1^st horse runs each day. No draw out after 1st horses runs each day. Email to [email protected] or give to office in person. All refund checks will be mailed the week after the show, less a $20.00 fee per horse.
4. Reruns & No time rules: If timer fails to work or the barrels are not placed on the markers. Any penalty incurred on the original run will not be applied to rerun; however, if any penalty occurs on the rerun it will result in a “no time”. A contestant will be disqualified for running out of turn. It is the contestant’s responsibility to know his/her draw position. A downed barrel; intentional pulling horse up; or broken pattern all result in a no time. Refusal of horse to enter the arena in a timely manner, can cause a disqualification, you will be given a chance to get in, if no progress is being made a 60 time will start and a 3 gate DQ call will be made.
5. All Days Approved: BBR; WPRA Co-Approved for Texas circuit.
6. Payback information: 100% Added Money; All Progressive payback. Open 5D, Youth 4D, Adult 4D & Sr 4D – 80% Entry Pay Back. The fastest time determine the breakdowns of each payout. Open 5D: Fastest + 1⁄2 + 1⁄2 + 1⁄2 + 1⁄2 second. Youth 4D, Adult 4D, & Sr. 4D: Fastest + 1⁄2 + 1⁄2 + 1⁄2 second. Futurity 2D: 80% Entry Pay Back – Fastest + 1 second, Derby 2D – 80% Entry Pay Back Fastest + 1/2 second. High Stakes 3D: 90% payback; Fastest + 1⁄2 + 1⁄2 second. Entry fee $250. Carry over from the OPEN 5D times.
7. 2D-Futurity incentive is a 4-5 year old futurity ½ second splits, 2D-Derby ½ second. Eligibility Rules for Futurity & Derby Incentive: Futurity is open to any 4 or 5 year old horses which have never competed at any barrel race for money, prizes, points, ribbons, etc prior to Nov 15, 2023. A copy of registration papers required. Horse is futurity eligible from Nov 15, 2023 to Dec 31, 2024. Derby horse has 2 years of eligibility from Dec 31 of its Futurity year. Derby Horse could not have been entered before Nov 15, 2022. $100 entry fee
8. Incentives: YOUTH 17 & under, ADULT 18-49, & SENIOR 50 & over; must carry over from the OPEN 5D times, payout is in the 4D format. Age based on the date of the race. $30 Entry fee
9. No Dress code, please dress appropriately. No Hat required; however lost hat in arena or alley way that has to be picked up will be subject to a $10.00 hat fine.
10. Stalls & RV’s can be purchased online, by paper entry or at race; on a first come bases. Stall price includes 2 bags of shavings. Additional shavings are $10.00 per bag. No Outside shavings. Expo Center is not responsible for unattended shavings. If you are not arriving during running hours call to have pre-paid stalls & RV’s unlocked, staff won’t be available to unlock after hours. No un-stalled horses are to be left on the grounds overnight.
11. All dogs on the Expo Center property must me on a leash.
